5 Vacation Destinations for Adults
Family vacations are great, but they aren't for everyone. For those of us without kids to plan for, or just looking for some time away in a kid-free atmosphere, there are some great options out there!
5) Tropical All-Inclusives
Get the most bang for your buck with an all-inclusive resort. Many of these resorts (like Secrets Wild Orchid, Montego Bay or Hard Rock, Riviera Maya to name a couple) are adults-ONLY resorts. Which means, you guessed it! No kids allowed. Being all-inclusive means just that - no need to budget for your meals! Lounge on the beach with a book, sip on a fruity cocktail, and take advantage of the resort's extensive ameneties! Make the trip truly your own - a romantic getaway, a girls' or guys' weekend, or even a solo trip to recharge.
4) Las Vegas, Nevada
Disclaimer: What happens in Vegas does NOT necessarily stay in Vegas. Try your hand at black jack, take in a show, have your picture taken in front of the Bellagio fountains, and even seek out Elvis impersonators. Vegas didn't earn the nickname "America's Playground" by being boring. Gamble your way down the strip. Treat yourself to a comedy or magic show. See a concert. Enjoy a meal prepared by a celebrity chef. The possibilities to make this vacation your own are endless. There may be families roaming around, but don't worry - there are plenty of 21+ spots to let your hair down.
3) Nashville, Tennessee
More and more in recent years, I'm hearing about bachelorette party-style weekends in Nashville. With so much to see and do, it's no wonder! Whether you're looking for music, food, art, or even hiking, you'll find it here. And when the sun goes down, the city comes alive. Add some excitement to your vacation by checking out the nightlife in Nashville. Take in free live music at one of the many Honky Tonks, sip on a craft cocktail at a rooftop bar, or see one of your favorite bands perform a sell-out show. There’s no wrong way to spend your Nashville nights.
2) New Orleans, Louisiana
Another great getaway option is New Orleans. See all this incredible city has to offer beyond Mardi Gras. Don't forget to treat yourself to some authentic beignets at Cafe du Monde. Visit the famous Lafayette Cemetery. Bar crawl down Bourbon Street. Explore the historic French Quarter, one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. Hear some REAL jazz. Cheer on the Saints or Pelicans. Hop a ride on a streetcar and have a picnic in the park. I'm sure your first visit will certainly not be your last.
